I am very sorry to hear of Mrs. Reagan’s passing. I had the honor and pleasure of meeting her in 1985. I found her very kind, gentle and most of all gracious. She was a true first lady. I am grateful for the opportunity to have met her, and thank her for her contribution to the preservation of the White House and for her service to our country as our “First Lady”.
I have a letter from her in 1982 thanking me for the benefit of her thoughts about her White House Redecoration feature in Architectural Digest. A classy First Lady indeed!
