This is one photo that would be so much better in color! In black and white it looks like someone’s extra family room with slip-covered old furniture, which maybe it was.
I think that’s exactly what it was Dennis. Let’s face it: for all her remarkable qualities, Eleanor Roosevelt was not exactly noted for her taste in interior decor.

Upon close observation, it seems that the rug in the Eleanor Roosevelt West Sitting Hall is the same one as in the TR/McKim Green Room.
